Citygarden is an acclaimed two-block urban sculpture park located in downtown St. Louis, featuring an immersive combination of interactive art, dynamic fountains, and botanical gardens. Hydro Dramatics worked in close collaboration with Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects and the Gateway Foundation to bring complex water features from concept to flawless execution.
Materializing the vision for Citygarden required the engineering of three distinct signature water installations that harmonize sight, sound, and tactile interaction. The engineering challenge centered on creating two contrasting aquatic atmospheres: an energetic, safe splash playground for children and visitors, alongside a serene, mirror-like reflective oasis set amidst a busy metropolitan backdrop.
Utilizing high-efficiency hydraulic systems, computerized sequencing, and advanced water treatment technologies, Hydro Dramatics engineered water features that deliver long-term mechanical reliability, public safety, and energy efficiency.
