Situated in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, Bicentennial Plaza commemorates the 200-year milestone of Indiana statehood. Designed by landscape architecture firm MKSK, the revitalization of the plaza at Senate Avenue and Robert D. Orr Plaza was engineered to optimize pedestrian safety, establish civic identity, and create a dynamic public gathering space on the grounds of the Indiana Government Center.
The centerpiece of Bicentennial Plaza is a state-of-the-art interactive architectural fountain engineered and supplied by Hydro Dramatics. This versatile feature functions as a high-energy interactive splash pad during operating hours and transitions into a mirror-like reflecting pool that showcases the historic Statehouse architecture when the dynamic water jets are deactivated.
